Pop up experiences like Candytopia , the Happy Place and Museum of Ice Cream are all the rage. Even studios are getting into the fun with virtual reality experiences like Dreamscape’s Alien Zoo. In a city like Los Angeles where there’s a pervasive desire to experience everything fun and new, these pop-ups have found a happy home.
Candytopia opens on March 2 at Santa Monica Place, featuring multiple candy themed installations. This four month installation is a ton of fun! I got to see the preview, and I can tell you its completely Instagram worthy! From flying pigs and unicorns, to candy beaches and a pit of marshmallow-like foam you will not be disappointed. They describe it as “What if an eccentric chocolatier and a daredevil pop star had a whirlwind romance, got married while skydiving, and had a glamorous, glittering love child who grew up to rule a small nation? Welcome to Candytopia, where colossal candyfloss constructions meld with a tantalizing taffy twistedness! Explore our sprawling sanctuary of confectionary bliss, tastefully curated by Hollywood Candy Queen Jackie Sorkin and realized by master fabricator Zac Hartog.” Get tickets quickly, they will go fast.
The Happy Place is returning to LA and will be open April 26 – May 27th at LA Live. As the folks at the Happy Place say…”We BELIEVE that our world today can use a lot more happiness. To make this DREAM come true, we set out on a journey to create a special place where anyone who walks in is surrounded by all things HAPPY. Founded by Jared Paul and opened originally on November 20, 2017, this massive pop-up experience will soon open a new location and reside at the Event Deck at the iconic L.A. LIVE. HAPPY PLACE is filled with larger than life size installations, multi-sensory immersive rooms, and dozens of moments curated to Capture Your Happy.” Get tickets online.
Rumor has it that Museum of Ice Cream is returning to Los Angeles in a new location. If you missed it the first time you’re going to want to get on their email list so you’ll know as soon as tickets go on sale. What is Museum of Ice Cream? A super fun environment that brings ice cream dreams to life!
