Ice Skating in LA

Indoor Rinks: For a serious skating experience unlike any other head just South of LAX to the Toyota Sports Center, the official training center of the Kings and the Lakers. This 135,000 square foot sports facility offers 3 rinks (NHL, Olympic and the Pond), a full service restaurant and fitness center. This is a great time to go skating because through January 1 you can skate around a holiday display including a Christmas tree and a 6ft menorah. Santa is also visiting from 1pm – 3pm on Christmas Eve. Check their schedule for Free Skate times, classes, birthday party ops and more! If you are a hockey fan or hockey player this is the rink for you!

Iceland Ice Skating Rink in Van Nuys offers classes, free skate and even Bumper Cars on Ice! The Pasadena Ice Skating Rink is open during the holidays for public skating sessions. Or stop-in at the Culver City Ice Rink for a little time on the ice!

Coolest find: The W Hotel in Westwood transforms their pool into an ice rink this time of year. You can sit poolside at the Backyard Cafe and drink hot cocoa while the kids skate on the pool. Opens at 3pm each day. Call for details or reservations. (310) 443-8218

Outdoor Rinks: Ice at Santa Monica on 5th Street and Arizona is a really fun outdoor experience! All dressed-up for the season the rink even features a Fred Segal Zamboni…now thats LA. The rink is open  through January 16. Check their website for hours.

LA Live at the Staples Center has a fantastic outdoor rink up through January 5.  Didn't make it in time? Have no fear! You can skate outside until February 5 at the Woodland Hills Outdoor Ice Rink at the Westfield Promenade. I have been told that this is the best ice rink for celebrity spotting.
