If you haven’t already made plans for this 4th of July weekend there’s still time. The hot tickets in town include Smokey Robinson at the Hollywood Bowl followed by a July 4th Fireworks Spectacular and New York Mets at Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium followed by post game fireworks. While at the Hollywoodbowl here’s a few tips. Get there early and park as close to the front of any of the lots as possible. Once your car is blocked-in, you aren’t going anywhere. You have to wait and leave with the rest of the crowd. Get your food there. Patina Restaurant Group has 17 different restaurant options to serve you. we love ordering picnic baskets ahead of time and dining at our seats. There’s also a market where you can buy beverages including wine and beer.
Want a little more traditional firework watching? The beach is always a great option. You can watch fireworks up and down the coast while sitting on the hood of your car in a lot along the PCH. Sunset at PCH is a great spot for watching the fireworks from the private country clubs, Palisades High School and the private homes up in Malibu. Sometimes you can see South too to Marina del Rey and Long Beach.
There’s plenty of options downtown and further East too. Time Out recommends the Hollywood Forever Cemetery, Grand Park, The Rose Bowl, Studio City and the Hollywood Bowl Overlook. See their write up here.
Whatever you decide to do, enjoy every minute of it! These precious moments with our kids are fleeting! Be safe and Happy 4th everyone!
