Holiday Visit LA

Disneyland Over Christmas Break?

I know many of you are looking for ways to keep the kids entertained over the holiday break. I have been thinking about taking out first trip to Disneyland. I have done a little research and this is a crowded time of year. According to Babes in Disneyland (which I think is the best resource for Disneyland info) Christmas Day and New Year's Eve are the two most crowded days of the year. That said, however, Disneyland crowds in cooler weather versus warmer weather are much more bearable. Also, Disneyland is lit up in lights, characters are dressed-up in holiday costumes, there's a 2:30 pm parade every day and fireworks at 9:00 pm every night. The celebration runs through Janury 8, 2012. Click for more info from Babes in Disneyland.

You can also check wait lines at rides while you are at the park with the Walkee app. Its so great! It shows you exactly how long the lines are at all the major rides in real time! You can also view Mouse Connect in the app which gives you tips and news about the resort. And you can buy tickets using the app!

If you need some additional tips, Stroller Traffic LA ran a great piece back in July 2011 offering great tips on navigating your visit to Disneyland with kids. For tickets and park hours at Disneyland Click Here.

We went last year on New Years Day (only bc we got free tickets) but it was fine & fun- the trick is to get in there when the park opens and hit the rides that that have long lines before park gets packed. We left at 2:30 when my son fell asleep waiting for the parade to start.
I don’t really think the apps work well. It is just regular people updating them with their best guess-
