Quite possibly the most famous movie theater in the world, Grauman’s Chinese Theater is a magical place to take older kids to see a movie! Unlike any other movie theater, it rises 90-feet high with a 30-foot high dragon carved from stone and the two original giant Heaven Dogs brought from China guarding its entrance. Afterwards you can even venture down Hollywood’s Walk of Fame for a little slice of Hollywood history and check out the handprints and footprints of the classic and modern day movie stars! The inside was recently renovated, making it one of the largest IMAX auditoriums in the world and one of the most sought after theaters in Hollywood for movie premiers!
Kids will love seeing a movie inside the giant “golf ball” that is the roof of the famous Cinerama Dome –it’s only one of three theaters in the world to still show movies this way! Reserved seating (so no need to rush to get seats), laser powered, digital presentations, and gourmet food options make the ArcLight more than a place to just see a movie; it is a full cinematic experience! Be sure to spend some time in the lobby too! More often than not, you can catch costumes and props from current movies on display in the lobby.
One of Los Angeles’ most popular movie theaters, the Arclight in Hollywood, offers comfortable assigned seating, top-notch sound and is also known for its awesome snacks and beautiful setting. Yes, the rumors are true, if Mommy or Daddy happen to be in the mood for a glass of wine, in some of the theaters, you can do that too! It’s right next to the classic Cinerama Dome and also offers fun costume and set displays!
With 14 auditoriums playing first run flicks, The Grove offers assigned stadium seating and an always dependable assortment of movies to choose from on the big screens! Take a ride on the free trolly, enjoy the dancing fountains or choose from ton of restaurants to dine at before you catch your feature film.
